I am captivated by the ocean, rivers, waterfalls and lakes - since I lived on a lake it isn't a surprise. There is a power in moving water. It also has a peace which can lull you to sleep. It is ever changing, which means for an artist - wait and you will see something new. It doesn't hold still, so you have to be keenly aware. It moves your senses on many levels and tomorrow it will be a new painting. Our west coast ocean line attracts us all to capture one moment. I love the intensity and added the pending storm for yet more drama in this original oil painting.
