Despite enjoying the California sunshine I love the beauty of snow. Rivers cutting through early winter snowfall - or better yet late spring when you begin to see signs of the cold winter closing a chapter for the year. Snow easily looks blue, but look closer to see pink tones. Tree branches bending under the weight of wet snowfall. It's so crisp—and so cold! It is true: snow blankets the world. The first snow, untouched makes a new quiet in the world. "Blue Snow" is that look fresh snow takes on near open water. I lived at the mouth of the river emptying into a lake, such a contrast from the frigid cold to the power and color of the water.
